Second Trimester: The "Honeymoon" Phase
Welcome to the "honeymoon" phase—for a lot of people, nausea and exhaustion finally ease up and you might feel your baby move for the first time. Hello, flutters! You're also starting to look visibly pregnant. Lean in and enjoy it.
Anatomy scans and prenatal visits keep tracking baby's growth. Now's the time to tour birth places, meet doulas, and sign up for childbirth ed. Your body's changing fast, so treat yourself to comfy clothes and shoes. Worth every penny.
If your provider says go for it, stay active: walking, swimming, prenatal yoga. They'll support your body and mood. Rest when you need to—every pregnancy's different.

Those first movements might feel like bubbles or little taps, then turn into full-on kicks and rolls. If movement patterns change later on, call your provider. For now? Soak up the connection.
Your blood volume and heart rate are up—stay hydrated and add iron-rich foods. Constipation's a thing for many; fiber, fluids, and gentle movement help. You've got this.
Linea nigra, stretch marks, skin changes—all common and normal. Moisturize if it helps with itchiness. Your belly's going to do its thing at its own pace.
If you haven't booked a doula yet, this is the sweet spot. Many doulas fill up, and meeting now means you'll have real rapport by the third trimester.

Back or pelvic aches? Prenatal massage or chiro (with someone pregnancy-savvy) can be amazing. You deserve to feel good.
Emotionally, the second trimester often feels steadier. If anxiety or low mood sticks around, talk to your provider. Mental health support in pregnancy is a real thing and it works.
Enjoy this chapter. The third trimester will be here before you know it.
